About Us

Easy Rider opened it's doors on Dec. 6, 1996 and is owned and managed by Warren Currie. Warren has been involved in the action sports industry in Edmonton since 1980, when as a high school kid he ordered his first Burton Backhill snowboard from Jake Burton.

In the mid 1980's Warren and his brother Scott were instrumental in getting snowboarding allowed at local resorts in Northern Alberta. Warren has been involved in a few dirrerent stores over the years. Starting as a part time "basement sweeper" at The Inside Edge on 124 Street and Stony Plain Road. From there Warren went on to manage and then own part of The Inside Edge - St. Albert. After the original "Edge"  closed, Warren changed the St. Albert store the "New Ground" and also opened a location on 109 Street in Edmonton.

In August of 1996 It was time for the partners to "part company" and Warren moved on to open his own store a few months later.

We continue to specialize in Snowboards, Skateboard, Wakeboards, Longboards, Shoes, Clothing and Accessories. Our main focus is still "having fun doing something different". Warren and all of his staff actively participate in all of the sports we sell, so we actually know what we are talking about when you come in. If you have been into the shop before - Thank You, if not, stop in and say hi.
