Omen Longboards started with the Carbon Matrix, which was the collaboration between a bunch of local Seattle skaters including Nate Blackburn and Trevor Preston. Omen didn’t have a physical location at the time, so the Matrix was outsourced to a local company. Due to the relatively low price tag (compared to other carbon boards) Omen gained some notoriety pretty quickly. After a little under a year, Omen procured space in a north Seattle garage and started producing the first Pike prototypes.

PD has had a tremendous impact on skateboarding, and he’s never wavered from his vision. He’s also had a huge influence on Troy Derrick — but you’ll learn more about that in a few pages.

Longboarder Labs Takes The Long View

Longboarder Labs will co-host the Khats-Jam skate show with local manufacturer Landyachtz at the Khatsahlano Music and Arts Festival. A block on West Fourth Ave will be shut down for a demonstration by Landyachtz’s skate team, and a safety session that will show novice skaters how to ride responsibly.
