Omen Longboards started with the Carbon Matrix, which was the collaboration between a bunch of local Seattle skaters including Nate Blackburn and Trevor Preston. Omen didn’t have a physical location at the time, so the Matrix was outsourced to a local company. Due to the relatively low price tag (compared to other carbon boards) Omen gained some notoriety pretty quickly. After a little under a year, Omen procured space in a north Seattle garage and started producing the first Pike prototypes.

Longboarding for Peace reached out to Board Rescue. Board Rescue is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is dedicated to providing skateboards and safety equipment to organizations that work with underprivileged and/or at-risk children in the USA. Together, Board Rescue and Longboarding for Peace will work with on initiatives to get longboards into the hands of organizations in the United States working towards peace.

Every so often a great “cause” comes along. This time it’s brought to you by Churchill MFG. Introducing the “PEEDS” Downhill Race and Freeride Wheel. Peeds phonetically represents the term used inside hospitals for the children’s wing and is short for pediatrics. Everyday, hospitals fill up with kiddos that are fighting childhood cancers. From Tumors to Leukemia, they fighting for something as simple as life. Most of us take our health for granted. Fortunately for many of us, we hear very little of what these little warriors have to endure on a daily bases. It can be heart breaking to witness it first hand.
