The AXS Gear/Concrete Wave Readers’ Choice survey yielded a tremendous amount of information. A 14-year-old was knocked over by a car and robbed while he was riding his longboard early Sunday in Salt Lake City, police say.

The teen was riding home about 2 a.m. near 500 East and Downington Avenue when a dark maroon Pontiac pulled up next to him, police wrote in a press statement. The victim was hit by the car door and knocked off his board, police wrote. A man got out of the car, brandished a gun and demanded money, police wrote. He then took the teen’s backpack and longboard.

The man was described only as being about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a white shirt. The car may have had an Idaho license plate, police wrote. Anyone with information may call police at 801-799-3000.
