The AXS Gear/Concrete Wave Readers’ Choice survey yielded a tremendous amount of information. Almost 4,000 people took the time to fill out the survey, with an average time of 14-plus minutes to complete! That represents almost 40 days’ worth of time! We produced a fully comprehensive listing of all companies in the Concrete Wave Buyer’s Guide. But here, for the purpose of space, we will address some of the key findings from the survey. We instituted two distinct changes this year. First, we changed the actual questions to reflect what brands are actually owned by readers. Rather than focusing on the word favorite,” we wanted to know what people actually had in their quiver.

So, one of the perks of working for the company organizing this event is I got to see all of these films already! The line up for this years film festival is spectacular! Seismic, Abec11, Push Culture, Sk8 Kings, Hamboards, Landyachtz, Sector Nine, SkateHouse, Caliber, Long Treks, Earthwing, Orangatang and some independents, there all here and on  the  big screen for the first time!  Below is a brief breakdown of each film, don’t miss this years film festival it’s going to be great!

Western Canada - Elite Status Reporter

Seismic – Mischo Erban world record- This video footage of Mischo Erban’s world record run proves that this  man doesn’t know the meaning of the word fear.

Abec11 – Maryhill Movie- Broken buses and bombed hills,  This video documents the Abec11 team’s road trip to Mary hill 2011 as well as some sweet footage of the race its self.

Downhill From Here - An awesome independent film with great production . It’s Gnar…ly

Push culture – The Broadway Bomb- You could die! The motto for the Broadway bomb says it all.

Sk8 Kings - Freestyle – Freestyle….. That’s right freestyle. It’s back, with a vengeance!

Hamboards – 2011 - This guys literally surf the  street! What a great film, it makes me want to spend the rest of my life on the beach.

Landyachtz – 2011 - Holy subterranean  batman! Billy Bones secret skate spot revealed!

Sector Nine – Danger bay 10 – The Sector Nine crew ripping it up right here in the great white north! This years Danger Bay was a lot of fun and this film shows it for sure.

SkateHouse Media -  Part 1 compilation - Woop Woop ! Move over your ass is too fat!  These guys really know how to rip it up, great tunes fast paced filming. Your going to want to go for a skate after seeing this one.

Caliber – One Way – Ripping it up Cali style! Sweet stand-ups beautiful coastal scenery this film has it all.

Long Treks – Morocco trailer – The AXS chickens long lost cousin makes an appearance in Morocco! You thought riding by the beach was bad for your bearings, try riding 2000km on the desert highways of Morocco.

Earthwing – Evolutions – Weapons of choice and some of New York’s finest, bombing hills and hitting up some sweet slide spots.

Orangatang – French Fries and Dog Eyes – A couple of guys a camera and some beautiful images…. I just wish i could understand what they we’re saying, oh well at least we all speak the language of longboard.
