Here’s another sneak peak from Xylan. Xylan has a prototype material they  call XY it is a specially engineered material made with “Intelligent Molecules”. They flow with you as you move but on shock/impact lock together (in a fraction of a second) to absorb the impact. It is super flexible and very thin, thin enough to be used as padding inside a knee shin guard they are developing. Apparently this material is both thin and flexible enough to put in a toque. The coolest thing about this material is it almost completely absorbs impact, I put some of it over my knee and had a friend hit me with a piece of marble and I came out totally unscathed! We weren’t allowed to show photos of the material but we can show you a picture of the knee pad it’s planned to be released in.

Pat here for Xylan and AXSGear.com I've been wearing this newtonian pad for a while now and it has really impressed me. I put the XY over my knee with out the shell and had a friend smoke me with a peice of marble. No pain! With the shell on I am able to take a baseball bat to the shin!! This stuff rules!
