The Longboard Coalition – A Non-Profit Advocacy Initiative
| No Comment
The Longboard Coalition is a non-profit organization committed to growing positive relationships between longboarders and their communities by developing and promoting educational programs that elevate the level of understanding of longboarding as a healthy active lifestyle choice. The Coalition takes a proactive role in protecting and expanding safe, and fun longboarding environments. The Longboard Coalition ultimately acts as the voice for longboarders and the industry when communicating with residents, law enforcement, government and the media.
The Longboard Coalition represents the longboarding community at important meetings such as the Skyline and Glenview Drive ban on skateboarding in July this year. Earlier this year in March the Longboard Coalition held a rally in Bluebird Park, Laguna Beach to discuss the City uprising against skateboarders. During this event Downhill Pioneer Mark Golter passed on a few words to the skaters of Laguna stating that the skaters of Laguna must regulate themselves to follow the rules set by the city to keep the sport alive in Laguna Beach. The Coalition teaches young longboarders how to help grow a positive relationship with their community while still being able to practice and enjoy longboarding.
Skate the Forest Annual Longboard Cruise, Slide, BBQ and Auction raised funds for the Longboard Coalition where hundreds of Longboarders came out to support the cause.
On the Longboard Coalition website, Longboarders can find the Coalitions previous endeavors and tips on how to ride safer and smarter to maintain a good relationship with the community, and law enforcement. Learn more about the Longboard Coalition: LongboardCoalition.com
