Berlin Longboard – LassRollen ‘Rollrunde’, August 2011
| No Comment
It’s great to be in Berlin! Every Wednesday with good weather Lassrollen (lassrollen.de/) in Warshauer Strasse organizes an evening “Rollerunde” longboard tour. I tagged along for one and decided to test out the motion capabilities of my GoPro HD Hero headcam! To be honest I wasn’t really there to film, more to learn more longboarding skills and try not to DIE as we took over the ENTIRE street with our longboards and cruised around the city!
Even though it’s not stellar I’m glad I got some footage though, it was a good TEST run, learned a lot for next time, will have to do a second set of planned takes to showcase all these guys (& gals) skills!
One major issue is lighting of course, i included some night shots just for the
sake of contrast, but portable lights would be needed with the GoPro if it’s not absolute daytime. The other thing driving me crazy is that my old MacBook (well, it’s 2008 regular model, not a pro, but it’s about 25 generations of macs old at the rate apple goes…) is literally dying struggling to process all this HD footage…I miss my iMac 27, but that’s no good on the road…ah well, patience while rendering is a virtue, perhaps?
The Rollrunde is definitely good for meeting people and learning so much more about longboard technique, skills, and the layout of the city, the film doesn’t do justice to how far we went – I got home about 7 hours later!!!
Oh yes, music on this one is also by local Berlin group SEEED, (seeed.de/), and again this is shot independently for fun on my GoPro HD – trying to practice getting back into the film/editing game. Follow/subscribe/read my blog people, artisticcatalyst.tumblr.com and I’ll keep getting more interesting stuff up there!
Thanks for watching!
