The AXS Gear/Concrete Wave Readers’ Choice survey yielded a tremendous amount of information. Almost 4,000 people took the time to fill out the survey, with an average time of 14-plus minutes to complete! That represents almost 40 days’ worth of time! We produced a fully comprehensive listing of all companies in the Concrete Wave Buyer’s Guide. But here, for the purpose of space, we will address some of the key findings from the survey. We instituted two distinct changes this year. First, we changed the actual questions to reflect what brands are actually owned by readers. Rather than focusing on the word favorite,” we wanted to know what people actually had in their quiver.

All Girl Skate Jam Contest at the Vans Warped Tour

Touring 43 cities this summer with the Vans Warped Tour, All Girl Skate Jam (AGSJ) has hit the road for its succeeding 9th year. On Friday, June 22, 15 female skateboarders were invited to skate in the AGSJ Contest on the Vans Warped Tour at the Pomona Fairplex. Special guest judges were: Jay Adams, Phil Jetton Rock, Pro skaters Jessica Florencio, Kelvin Hoefler, Joao Pedro Olivera and emcee Steve Badillo. “It’s very obvious that AGSJ and Patty Segovia have created the ultimate platform for the future of girl’s competitive skateboarding,” said Jetton Rock. “I was blown away on the level of professionalism and organization.”He continued to elaborate on the girls’ endowment. “Some of the top girl skaters in the world created a very tough contest to judge,” Jetton Rock said. “With so much talent displaying, the latest greatest trick’s in true hard core female skater style not only for the judges but hundreds of fans.”The girls ramped-it up to win an Arbor Collective Snowboard including prizes from Vans Shoes, Transworld Skateboarding, Arbor Collective, John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, Razkullz, Vans Warped Tour, Girlz Garage, Chipotle, Pro-Tec, Element Eden, Aerial 7, Lazy Dog, Raskullz, and Skater Dreams.
