Reader’s Choice: Analysis, Rants and Raves
April 30, 2013 – 2:48 PM | No Comment

The AXS Gear/Concrete Wave Readers’ Choice survey yielded a tremendous amount of information. Almost 4,000 people took the time to fill out the survey, with an average time of 14-plus minutes to complete! That represents almost 40 days’ worth of time! We produced a fully comprehensive listing of all companies in the Concrete Wave Buyer’s Guide. But here, for the purpose of space, we will address some of the key findings from the survey. We instituted two distinct changes this year. First, we changed the actual questions to reflect what brands are actually owned by readers. Every one seems to be stoked on this board, so much so that it will be mentioned inn the next Concrete Wave Noteworhty. Here’s the article as it will show up in Noteworthy. The Fattail is a chunky little monkey that features a wider and more refined cambered/ concave standing platform, two wheelbase options, a nominal nose kick and a functional if corpulent kicktail. Designed for parking garages, pumping, freestyle, a bit of freeride, commuting and eating tubs of rocky road. Because as we all know, she gotta pack much back. loadedskateboards.com

And here’s what the guys at Loaded have to say about this board.

A little extra girth never hurt anyone. At least that was our approach when it came time to revamp the design of the Pintail. We wanted to modernize this classic concept so it could keep up with evolutions in riding styles, techniques, and performance expectations.
The Fattail was designed for pumping, carving, pedestrian slalom, freestyle and generally any situation where lively, energetic lines are on the menu. You may never reach for your downhill board for those late night parking garage sessions again.
